Since a significant portion of the JECAM network already was in Rome for SIGMA and Sen2Agri project meetings during the week of June 26, we took this opportunity to discuss new research directions. Consequently, a one day meeting has been planned for June 30 at the FAO. Thorsten Dahms from the department of remote sensing from the University of Wuerzburg and Daniel Spengler from the GFZ were there to attend the meeting. This workshop allowed for the discussion of protocols from former meetings and jointly identifying pending or new research questions to be addressed building on the existing JECAM cross-site approach and the support of CEOS. In particular, the recently launch SAR experiments coordinated by Agri-Food Canada combining Radarsat-2 and Sentinel-1 time series were presented and discussed before actual protocol implementation.
The agenda of the meeting planned for plenary sessions about large field experiments, small holder agriculture and SAR inter-comparison experiments, as well as parallel working sessions for existing and forthcoming collaborative experiments, based on the plenary discussions.
